The Bar Point Club won their 4th straight Challenge Cup in
dramatic
fashion by finishing with an incredible 11-1 record in the final two rounds.
Springfield was in control after the first two rounds with a 9-3 mark and it
looked they would win their first cup ever, but they couldn't hold on to the
lead as they finished 6-6 in the last two rounds. The final round
had two matches
between the clubs as Gary Kay beat Sean Garber and John Jennings beat
Bill Davis. David Rockwell ended up winning the clinching match with a
victory
over Steve Neidecker by rolling several large sets in the double match point
game.
Three players finished with 4-0 marks to split the side pool, Gary Kay and
David Rockwell of the Bar Point Club and Jena Jennings of the Springfield club.
Congratulations to Steve Klesker who got his name on the cup for the first time.
Tak Morioka leads everyone by a wide margin with his12th cup win.
Bill Davis, Gary Kay, and Herb Roman won for the 5th time, and this
was the 3rd time for David Rockwell. David also wins the cup for the
third straight year which is an impressive accomplishment.
